One of the world’s great wine stories…

In the 1700s, Constantia wine was the toast of Europe’s most opulent balls, desired by iconic figures such as Queen Victoria, Marie Antoinette, Casanova and Napoleon.

It then disappeared without a trace, only to be found in the prose and poetry of Jane Austen and Charles Dickens. Until, against the odds, the icon was reborn a century later.

This tour brings the story of the “sweet, agreeable and luscious wine” to life, through all its unexpected glories and fluctuating fortunes, ensuring that somewhere between your first step and last satisfying sip, you get a better understanding of just how fascinating the Constantia wine story is.

  • Beautiful Scenery

Walking between three wine farms allows you to better understand Constantia’s terroir while savouring the incredible ocean, mountain and vineyard views.

  • Delicious Wine and Food

We pop bubbles in the vineyards and taste 10 wines along the way. A snack pack is provided to pair with the wines we taste at three wine farms. A harvest platter lunch is served at the final stop.

  • Fascinating Stories

Freemasons and Amazonian warriors, Great Gatsby-esque parties and tragic fires, 15-man morning orchestras and farm-owning freed slaves - the story of Constantia is as unique as its wine.
